Oak Ridge, NC

Oak Ridge is a town in northwestern Guilford County, near Greensboro but with a more spacious, semi-rural feel. It is best known for Oak Ridge Military Academy, a private college-preparatory military boarding school that gives the town a distinctive institutional landmark. The community also has a historic district, older homes, large lots, and wooded roads. Oak Ridge has grown as the Greensboro area has expanded, but it still feels more like a small Piedmont town than a dense suburb.
