Ocean Pines, MD

Ocean Pines is a Worcester County census-designated place near Ocean City, built around planned-community amenities rather than an old town center. Before the late 1960s, the area was a small community with many retirees; today it is much larger and more organized around neighborhoods, clubs, parks, and recreation. Ocean Pines Golf Club, designed by Robert Trent Jones and opened in 1972, is a major local feature, and White Horse Park gives residents a civic gathering place. It feels residential, coastal-adjacent, and deliberately self-contained.
