About Ocean Pointe

Ocean Pointe is a housing development and census-designated place on the ʻEwa Plain, where sugar production once shaped settlement and employment. The area was one of Oʻahu’s larger population centers in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, when ʻEwa Mill established residential villages around the industry. Sugar cane is no longer grown there. Ocean Pointe lies inland from ʻEwa Beach on the leeward side of Oʻahu, about 15 miles from Honolulu, and had 14,965 residents in 2020. Fort Weaver Road runs north toward Waipahu, while Kapolei Parkway leads west toward Kapolei’s city center.
