Oceano, CA

Oceano is a San Luis Obispo County community on California's Central Coast, just south of Pismo Beach and Grover Beach. Its history includes Halcyon, a utopian religious community established in 1903 by the Temple of the People, and Irish poet and Celtic mythologist Ella Young spent her final years here. Oceano is also closely associated with the dunes and beach access along this part of the coast. It feels less polished than nearby resort towns, with a mix of coastal recreation, modest homes, and eccentric local history.
