About Old Bridge
Old Bridge is a statistical place inside a much larger township, and the shared name makes boundary details unusually important. An "Old Bridge" postal address does not necessarily fall inside that boundary. For example, the Census address geocoder assigns One Old Bridge Plaza, home to the municipal center and public library's Central Branch, to Brownville CDP. By contrast, it places Veterans Park's 1254 Englishtown Road address in Old Bridge CDP. The distinction prevents the place from being confused with either the whole township or the separate Historic Village of Old Bridge in East Brunswick. Daily public resources operate at township scale across those Census lines. Veterans Park hosted a weekday half-day camp for children ages six through 13 from late June through July 2026.
The township recreation department maintains more than 300 acres of developed land, averages about 50 seasonal programs, and runs Camp R.O.B.I.N. for people with special needs. At the Central Library, seven-day hours are paired with meeting, study, and Zoom rooms; free scanning and faxing; device help; and equipment that converts VHS recordings to digital files. Commuting infrastructure is similarly regional. NJ Transit's Old Bridge Park & Ride at US 9 and Meleta Way has 895 standard and 18 accessible spaces, bike parking, and ticket machines. Current service includes Route 139 toward New York and Lakewood. For a prospective resident, "Old Bridge" describes overlapping Census, postal, township-service, and transportation geographies rather than one compact civic center.
