About Olney

Olney is a city and the county seat of Richland County, Illinois, established along a historic stagecoach route settled in 1815 by Thaddeus Morehouse. Famous for its unique protected population of albino grey squirrels, the community had a population of 8,577 at the 2020 census and is served by the Richland County School District.
