Onalaska is a city in Polk County, Texas, situated on a peninsula between the channels of Lake Livingston. Originating as a planned company town for the Carlisle Lumber Company in the early twentieth century, the recreational and retirement community of approximately 3,210 is served by the Onalaska Independent School District for public education locally today.
