About Orangeburg

Orangeburg is a hamlet and census-designated place in the town of Orangetown, Rockland County, New York. Historically, the community of approximately 4,500 was the site of Camp Shanks, the largest World War II Army embarkation camp, which processed over three million service personnel heading to Europe. Today, the town is home to the corporate headquarters of Streit's kosher food company and is served by the South Orangetown Central School District.
