About Oriska

Founded in 1872 as a Northern Pacific railroad stop called Fourth Siding, Oriska eventually took its unique name from a popular 19th-century poem. Today, this small Barnes County community offers peaceful prairie living right along Interstate 94. Located just a short drive east of Valley City and less than an hour from Fargo, it gives residents a quiet rural setting with straightforward access to larger nearby hubs for work, shopping, and dining.
