About Orme

Hidden in the scenic hollows of Doran's Cove, Orme started out in the 1890s as a bustling coal-mining camp known as Needmore. Once a railroad spur connected the valley in 1902, it grew into a classic company town complete with a commissary, small hotel, and miners' cottages. While the old mines are long gone, the town remains a peaceful, close-knit community where historic homes and lush mountain scenery offer a relaxed pace of life.
