Ovid, MI

Ovid is a Clinton County city along M-21, almost halfway between St. Johns and Owosso, with a small eastern reach in Shiawassee County. It was incorporated as a village in 1867 and became a city in 2015, so the municipal label is newer than the community’s grid. The Ovid-Elsie name also reflects a long shared school region: students from Ovid and nearby Elsie attend a district with elementary, middle, and high school campuses. The newer city charter shows up in the way Ovid now handles municipal planning.

The city’s local map follows M-21 for errands and connects west to St. Johns and east to Owosso, while farm roads spread through the two-county edge.
