About Owasso

Much of Owasso's public calendar converges on Redbud Festival Park. The downtown grounds combine a performance stage, food-truck alley, pavilion, children's nook, butterfly garden, water feature, and open lawn. In 2026, the park hosted Saturday farmers and artisan markets, Gathering on Main, and free summer movie nights. The broader annual schedule adds the Redbud Rumble run, Harvest and Pet Festival, BoOwasso, holiday parade, and a seasonal light trail. Rayola Park supplies a three-quarter-mile path, pickleball courts, and splash pad, while Funtastic Island pairs another splash pad with a newer playground. The city's adopted 2026 budget describes more than 264 acres of parkland, miles of trails, athletic fields, three splash pads, a skate park, and a veterans memorial. Those facilities are serving a city that has changed quickly. Owasso's 2024 population estimate was 42,821, nearly 12 percent above its 2020 estimate base; the 2020 census recorded 38,240 residents.

During 2020-2024, 26 percent of residents were under 18, homeowners occupied 64 percent of homes, and median household income was $79,036. The median owner-occupied value was $243,100, median monthly costs for mortgage holders were $1,601, and median gross rent was $1,270. Workers averaged about 22 minutes of travel to work. The library offers another view of that growth. As of 2026, the Owasso branch was operating from a temporary downtown location while its permanent building was being replaced. The planned branch will double the former space and add patios for adults and children, a maker space, story-time room, small collaboration rooms, a drive-up window, and housing above the ground-floor library. Meanwhile, the temporary branch remains open six days a week for browsing, holds, computers, printing, scanning, and bilingual assistance.
