About Oxford

Oxford is a city in Calhoun, Talladega, and Cleburne counties, and one of the two principal cities of the Anniston-Oxford metro area. It was founded in the early 1850s and became the first incorporated city in Calhoun County. The city lies near the southern end of the Blue Ridge foothills, with Cheaha Mountain nearby and Oxford Lake among its local recreation spots. Interstate 20 and Oxford's position between Atlanta and Birmingham have helped drive modern growth.
