Pacific, WA

Pacific is a small city in King and Pierce counties, along the lower White River south of Seattle. Its early plat was called Hillman's Pacific City Addition, and the river remains the defining local force. Flooding has shaped the community, including episodes tied to water releases from Mud Mountain Dam and the White River overtopping near Pacific City Park. Pacific feels modest and floodplain-practical, with warehouses, homes, parks, and South Sound commuting all squeezed into a low river landscape.
