About Paducah
Paducah is a western Kentucky river city and the principal city of its small metropolitan area. Its location near the Ohio and Tennessee rivers made steamboats, port facilities, and trade central to its early growth. Today the riverfront still carries much of the city's personality, especially through the Paducah Wall to Wall murals painted on the floodwall beginning in the 1990s. Paducah also has a historic downtown and a strong arts reputation, including national attention for quilting and craft traditions.
