Palmetto, FL

Palmetto is a Manatee County city on the north side of the Manatee River, across from Bradenton. Its modern story reaches back to Samuel Sparks Lamb, who arrived near the river in 1868 and helped establish the community. Palmetto has a historic district, waterfront parks, older neighborhoods, and working Gulf Coast industry alongside newer growth. The river is central to its identity, linking it to Bradenton, Terra Ceia Bay, and the wider Sarasota-Bradenton area while still giving Palmetto its own small-city feel.
