Parcoal, WV

Parcoal is a tiny, quiet community in Webster County sitting right along the Elk River. Home to just over a hundred residents, the area has deep roots in early Appalachian coal mining and timber. Today, it offers a peaceful, remote pace of life surrounded by rugged mountain scenery. During the summer, locals often head down to the rocky ledges between Parcoal and Cherry Falls for swimming in the cool river water.
