Parkers Settlement, IN

Parkers Settlement is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Robinson Township, Posey County, near the end of the Diamond Avenue stretch of Indiana 66. The road brings the settlement into the wider southwest Indiana map, while the surrounding fields and scattered homes keep its center rural. A post office opened here in 1851 and operated until 1902, a reminder that the place once handled more of its own mail and errands before county roads and regional towns took over those jobs.

Today, school ties point toward the Metropolitan School District of North Posey County, whose campuses and district office are in the Poseyville area. Indiana 66 remains the main local reference point, with side roads leading past farms, churches, and homes in Robinson Township. Parkers Settlement has no compact downtown to frame the story; its character is in the road's last stretch, the school connection, and the old settlement name carried through a landscape of fields and long county routes.
