About Perdido Beach

Perdido Beach sits on the north shore of Perdido Bay between Soldier Creek and Palmetto Creek, with County Road 97 as its only road in. The modern town grew from Col. L. B. Hatch’s 1900 land purchase and early lot sales, when people reached the area mostly by water and timber and turpentine shaped the local economy. Residents voted to incorporate in 2009, giving this bayfront community its own town government. Perdido Beach is coastal Alabama with an old smuggler’s-bay story, a beach road, and a very young municipal chapter.
