Perry, OH

Perry is a Lake County village about a mile and a half south of Lake Erie. The 2020 census counted 1,602 residents. The village took its name from Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry, whose 1813 victory over the British fleet on Lake Erie became part of the town's name. Perry's business center grew around the railroad after the village was incorporated in 1913, then shifted toward Center Road as the community filled in. Lake Erie and the Grand River are close enough for fishing and lake-weather talk, while Perry Local Schools and Perry Area Recreation connect the village with the surrounding township.

The village also shares fire and recreation services with Perry Township and North Perry. Main Street still carries the older railroad-era layout, but the newer business center sits along Center Road. The lake is never far from the village streets. Perry is a Lake County village with a naval hero in its name, farm country behind it, and the lake just up the road.
