Perrytown, AR

Just three miles northeast of Hope along U.S. 67, Perrytown is a small, quiet community with roadside roots. The town got its start in 1955 when Perry Campbell opened a truck stop, eventually expanding it with a restaurant, motel, and garage. By 1963, local residents voted to incorporate so they could secure tax funds for street paving and town upgrades. Campbell was initially hesitant to lend his name to the community, but it stuck anyway, and he later served as mayor while opening other businesses nearby.

For daily necessities, residents look to neighboring Hope. Families fall into the Hope Public Schools district, and the quick drive down Highway 67 makes shopping, dining, and commuting simple. Perrytown is also home to the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s Southwest Regional Office, which serves outdoor enthusiasts across the area. It is a peaceful, no-fuss spot for anyone looking for rural living with the conveniences of a larger town right down the road.
