About Peterson

Tucked along the Little Sioux River in northwest Iowa's Clay County, Peterson is a peaceful small town with deep frontier roots. Settlers arrived here in the 1850s, and you can still visit a piece of that early history today. An authentic wooden blockhouse from an 1862 settler fort remains standing right in town at Second and Park, giving the area a unique historic character.
