Piedmont is a historic crossroads city situated in Calhoun and Cherokee counties in northeastern Alabama. Established in the early 1840s along two historic post roads, the town lies within the Anniston-Oxford metropolitan area near Duggar Mountain. Today, the community serves as a major recreation hub; it is the home of the Chief Ladiga Trail, a popular paved rail-trail, and Terrapin Creek, which draws visitors for kayaking, canoeing, camping, and fishing.
