Pierce, CO

Pierce is a Weld County statutory town on Colorado’s Eastern Plains, along U.S. 85 north of Greeley. The 2020 census counted 1,097 residents. A post office has served the town since 1903, and the name honors John Pierce, a railroad figure. That history still fits the geography: Pierce sits in an agricultural stretch where highway travel, farm work, and the small town grid meet. Main Street is the civic spine, with Town Hall, local notices, and the regular business of utilities, permits, meetings, and town services. The present-day town puts a lot of its shared activity into its parks.

Pierce maintains Bickling Field, Jones Park, Priddy Park, Phillips Park, and a skate park, giving the town ball fields, play areas, and a place for wheels. A 2026 health-services mobile unit schedule brought clinics into Weld and Larimer County neighborhoods, farms, food banks, and worksites, while town leaders were asking residents for input on golf-cart rules. Those details say more about Pierce than a bare population count does: it is a small agricultural town that handles ordinary municipal chores, keeps recreation close to Main Street, and stays connected to the bigger northern Colorado corridor.
