About Piggott

Piggott is a historic city and one of the two seats of government for Clay County, Arkansas, situated on the eastern edge of Crowley's Ridge. The town serves as the northern terminus of the Crowley's Ridge Parkway, a designated National Scenic Byway along U.S. Route 62. Piggott is nationally recognized for its association with writer Ernest Hemingway, who wrote extensively while visiting the family estate of his second wife, Pauline Pfeiffer. Today, the community of thirty-six hundred residents is served by the Piggott School District.
