Pilot Station, AK

Pilot Station is a city in the Kusilvak Census Area, Alaska, situated on the northern bank of the lower Yukon River. Located approximately eighty miles from the Bering Sea, the community of six hundred residents is accessible primarily by air or water. Local education is provided by the Lower Yukon School District through the Pilot Station School, which serves students from kindergarten through twelfth grade. The city maintains a traditional Yup'ik culture and a subsistence fishing economy.
