Pine Bluff, AR

Pine Bluff is the county seat of Jefferson County, set where the Arkansas Delta meets the Arkansas Timberlands. Cotton production and river commerce made it one of Arkansas' major cities by the late 1800s, with the Arkansas River central to its rise. Today Pine Bluff carries a complicated mix of historic weight, public institutions, industrial legacy, and economic struggle. The Pine Bluff Convention Center, older neighborhoods, parks such as Townsend Park, and its position in southeast Arkansas all help define the city.
