Pine Forest, TX

Pine Forest is a city in Orange County, Texas, north of Vidor in the Beaumont-Port Arthur region. Its setting belongs to the pine and timber country of Southeast Texas, where roads, drainage channels, and small settlements spread through the flat land between the Neches River and the county's larger communities. Pine Forest's local map is closely connected with Vidor, and Lakeview Cutoff is one of the roads used to identify the area. The city is also part of the Vidor Independent School District.

That school connection reaches back to the district's beginnings. In 1929, common school districts associated with Magnolia Grove, Doty, Terry, and Pine Forest consolidated to form the Vidor Rural School District; the district later became independent.
