Pittsburg is a city and the largest community in Crawford County, Kansas, situated in the southeastern corner of the state near the Missouri border. Home to Pittsburg State University, founded in 1903, the community of approximately 20,600 celebrates its diverse European immigrant heritage each Labor Day with the Little Balkans Days festival. Public education is administered by Pittsburg Unified School District 250.
