Placedo, TX

Placedo is a small, quiet community in Victoria County, sitting along US 87 about 14 miles southeast of Victoria. It traces its roots back to the 1830s, when Tejano rancher Plácido Benavides settled along the creek that now shares his name. Railroad growth in the late 1800s helped establish the town, leaving behind a peaceful rural pocket with deep ties to early South Texas ranching history.

Life in Placedo offers plenty of space, surrounded by coastal prairie, working farmland, and big Texas skies. Local younger kids attend Placedo Elementary in the Bloomington school district, while older students head into nearby Bloomington.
