Plainwell, MI

Plainwell is a small town in southwest Michigan, located about ten miles north of Kalamazoo along US-131. Known locally as the "Island City," downtown sits on an island created by the Kalamazoo River and an old millrace canal. With around 3,800 residents, the community has a quiet, neighborly feel and a historic main street that makes it easy to settle into.

The local school district is a big draw for families, as is the walkable downtown with its local restaurants, seasonal farmers market, and popular Plainwell Ice Cream. Outdoor recreation centers on the river, with waterfront parks, kayak launches, and the Riverwalk trail weaving through town.
