About Plum
Plum is a large borough in eastern Allegheny County, northeast of Pittsburgh and near the Allegheny River. It began as Plum Township in 1788, one of Allegheny County's original seven townships, and still covers a broad, suburban landscape. Neighborhoods such as Holiday Park and Regency Park reflect its postwar residential growth, while its size gives parts of Plum a more open feel than Pittsburgh's closer-in boroughs. It is a practical eastern-suburbs community with schools, parks, and commuting ties to the Pittsburgh region.
