Point Blank, TX

Point Blank is a San Jacinto County city at the junction of U.S. 190 and State Highway 156, on the northwest side of Lake Livingston about 85 miles north of Houston. The 2020 census counted 643 residents. The everyday map is built around the civic center, the highway corridor, and the lake, with Coldspring-Oakhurst Consolidated ISD serving local students. Bigger grocery runs, medical appointments, and county business pull residents toward the nearby county hubs.

The name has an older story: Florence Dissiway, a Frenchwoman who came to the area in the 1850s, called the settlement Blanc Point; local usage eventually flipped it to Point Blank. Lake Livingston changed the rhythm again after its completion in the late 1960s, bringing lake traffic and new residents to a place that had been organized around roads, timber, and farm country. Point Blank today is less a dense town center than a small lakeside community whose civic life and errands sit along the highway.
