Pomeroy, OH

Pomeroy hugs the Ohio River roughly twenty miles south of Athens, squeezed into a skinny ribbon of land beneath towering sandstone hills. With around 1,500 residents, it serves as the Meigs County seat and has one of the most distinctive layouts in the region. The entire downtown runs along the riverbank, with historic brick storefronts backed right up against the steep rock bluffs.
