Port Neches, TX

Port Neches is a Jefferson County city on the Neches River, in Southeast Texas's industrial Golden Triangle. The area was once home to Karankawa and Atakapa peoples, and Smith's Bluff later became part of Civil War-era defenses intended to stop Union movement up the river. Modern Port Neches is closely tied to petrochemical industry, schools, riverfront parks, and nearby Nederland and Port Arthur. It feels civic and industrial, with Gulf Coast humidity, plant lights, and strong local pride all visible.
