Portland, TN

Portland is a city in Sumner and Robertson counties, on the Highland Rim in northern Middle Tennessee. The area is known for rich agricultural soils, and that farming context still comes through even as Nashville-area growth pushes north. Portland is also the northern terminus of U.S. Bicycle Route 23, a small but distinctive map fact for a town better known locally for schools, fields, and commuter roads. It feels like a working rural-edge city, part farm town and part Nashville orbit.
