About Poulsbo

Poulsbo is a Kitsap County city on Liberty Bay, long associated with Norwegian heritage and a waterfront downtown. The Suquamish people inhabited the area for millennia, using the local forests, streams, bays, and floodplains for hunting and fishing. Later Scandinavian settlement helped shape Poulsbo's public identity, including the nickname Little Norway. Today the city combines a working Kitsap Peninsula setting with shops, schools in the North Kitsap School District, marina activity, and ferry-linked access to the broader Puget Sound region.
