Prairie City, OR

Prairie City sits in eastern Oregon’s upper John Day Valley, about 13 miles east of the town of John Day along Highway 26. Framed by the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness and the surrounding Blue Mountains, the town offers some of the most scenic views in Grant County. It grew from an 1860s gold mining settlement into a long-standing ranching and timber community.
