Prairiewood Village, SD

Prairiewood Village is a Brown County CDP northeast of Aberdeen, laid out around Moccasin Creek and the country club that shares its name. The 160-acre community is a patchwork of homes, condominiums, and twin homes rather than an old main-street town. Moccasin Creek runs through it on its way into the James River watershed, while Aberdeen supplies the nearby city reference point. Prairiewood Village is northeast South Dakota in a planned neighborhood shape, with the creek doing the local geography.
