Progress is a census-designated place located in Susquehanna and Lower Paxton townships, Pennsylvania, serving as a suburb of Harrisburg. Settled in the eighteenth century by Daniel Shell and historically known as Shellstown and Mud Town, the community of approximately 11,017 is bordered to the east by Colonial Park. Public education is administered by the Susquehanna Township School District.
