Prudhoe Bay and Deadhorse sit at the very top of Alaska, right on the edge of the Arctic Ocean at the northern end of the Dalton Highway. The area functions as an industrial outpost built to support the North Slope oil fields. Deadhorse serves as the main logistics base, welcoming workers who fly into the local airport or haul freight up the highway. From there, a network of private gravel roads connects camps, airstrips, and operational facilities across the open tundra.

Daily life here revolves completely around shift work and Arctic energy production. Most people stay on rotational schedules, living in self-contained camp complexes that provide housing, catered meals, and indoor recreation during harsh weather. The settlement focuses entirely on keeping heavy industry moving, with jobs centered on aviation, freight transport, equipment maintenance, and field operations. Given the extreme climate and sheer distance from major cities, it is one of the most unique and remote work destinations in North America.
