About Pueblo Nuevo
Pueblo Nuevo is a Webb County census-designated place east of Laredo, in the State Highway 359 service area. The community was formed from parts of the Laredo Ranchettes CDP and nearby land before the 2010 census, so its shape comes from rural subdivisions and county roads more than an old town square. Webb County's landscape runs from flat to rolling ground covered with mesquite, thorn shrubs, and cacti, placing Pueblo Nuevo in the dry border-country setting around Laredo.
The community's present-day ties are largely institutional. United Independent School District serves Pueblo Nuevo, with Freedom Elementary, Raul Perales Middle, and United South High School in the school pattern. Laredo College is the designated community college for Webb County. The larger county carries a long ranching and border history, with Laredo and the Rio Grande providing the regional frame. Pueblo Nuevo belongs to that map as a newer named community shaped by roads, subdivisions, schools, and the expanding rural edge east of the city.
