Pukalani, HI

Pukalani is a census-designated community in Maui County, Hawaii, with about eight thousand residents. Its name is often translated as heavenly gate, fitting its Upcountry Maui setting on the slopes below Haleakala rather than along the resort coast. Pukalani is home to Kamehameha Schools Maui, one of its clearest local institutions, and is covered by Hawaii's statewide public school system.
