Punta Rassa, FL

Punta Rassa sits right at the tip of Lee County, surrounded by San Carlos Bay, the Caloosahatchee River, and the open waters of the Gulf. Most locals know it as the gateway to Sanibel Island, since the community sits directly at the base of the Sanibel Causeway. It has a long history as a prized saltwater fishing destination, but today it is a quiet, scenic coastal neighborhood connected straight to Fort Myers along palm-lined McGregor Boulevard.

Day-to-day living here revolves around the water. Boaters and anglers take full advantage of the local marinas and the Punta Rassa Boat Ramp for quick runs out to the Gulf and surrounding barrier islands. While routine shopping, dining, schools, and healthcare require a short drive up into Fort Myers, residents gladly trade suburban bustle for immediate water access. Life on the point does mean keeping an eye on coastal weather and seasonal bridge traffic, but it offers a relaxed setting with front-row views of the islands.
