About Queens Gate
Queens Gate is a York County census-designated place in York Township, just south of the city of York. The 2020 census counted 1,480 residents. It was part of the Tyler Run–Queens Gate CDP in 2000 and was counted on its own by 2010, but the name still covers the larger south-York area around South Queen Street and Interstate 83. York Township Park, Snyder Park, Tyler Run Park, and the Queensgate shopping and theater area supply the practical landmarks. There is no courthouse square here; the township and the nearby city do the organizing.
York Township Park is the big shared outdoor piece, with soccer fields, baseball and softball diamonds, sand volleyball courts, a walking trail, and the Kid's Kingdom playground. Rabbit Transit route 10S follows South Queen Street, while York's downtown sits just north. Queens Gate's local scoop is a neighborhood-like CDP whose identity comes from township parks, South Queen Street, and immediate access to York rather than a separate town center.
