About Rathdrum

Rathdrum is a Kootenai County city in northern Idaho, situated at the base of Rathdrum Mountain. Its name changed in the 1880s after federal officials required a new post office name, a small bureaucratic twist that stuck permanently. Today Rathdrum sits between Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls, and the open country toward the Rathdrum Prairie. It feels like a growing North Idaho community with mountain views, local schools, and easy access to both outdoor recreation and the larger Coeur d'Alene-Spokane corridor.
