About Rawlins

Rawlins is a city and the county seat of Carbon County, Wyoming, situated at an elevation of 6,800 feet. Named for Union General John Aaron Rawlins who camped here in 1867, the community of approximately 8,129 lies along the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail. Public education is served by Carbon County School District One.
