Raytown, MO

Raytown is a Kansas City-area city with roots along the Santa Fe Trail. William Ray established a blacksmith shop on the trail, and the area developed as pioneers moved west through the Little Blue River country. That older crossroads history still gives Raytown more texture than a generic suburb, even though modern life is mostly metropolitan: neighborhoods, schools, small businesses, and commuter access on the southeast side of Kansas City.
