About Redfield

Redfield is a small rural community along US 59 about four miles north of Nacogdoches, in the part of Nacogdoches County that has gradually folded into the larger Nacogdoches area. The settlement was established before 1900; by the mid-1930s it had a church, several stores, and scattered homes, and a store and church were still serving the area in the 1960s. Today Redfield is a census-designated place and part of Nacogdoches Independent School District, with Brooks-Quinn-Jones Elementary as its zoned elementary campus. Its story is a rural community along a major road, close to Nacogdoches for daily ties while retaining its own place name.
