About Redvale
Redvale is a census-designated place in southern Montrose County, on the eastern edge of Colorado's Plateau country. The 2020 census counted 172 residents. The community sits atop Wrights Mesa at roughly 6,500 feet, between Naturita Canyon and Maverick Draw, with Colorado Highway 145 running through the settlement. Naturita lies about ten miles northwest, while Norwood is about nine miles southeast. The Redvale post office carries ZIP code 81431 and remains one of the few clearly named civic points in a broad rural area.

Water runs through the place's geography even when it is out of sight. Redvale lies in the San Miguel River watershed, which leads toward the Dolores and Colorado rivers, and the surrounding high country reaches toward the Uncompahgre National Forest and the San Juan Mountains. Ranches, small agricultural parcels, fire service, and highway travel give the CDP its working shape. Redvale has no incorporated municipal government; its boundary describes a small population spread across mesa country. On the map, it is a high-elevation settlement between western Colorado towns, with a post office and highway connecting a large open region.
